Techy T.O.M.’s Blog at New Glarus Elementary School

Today Mr. Briggs tried out a new tool online that makes graphic organizers called bubbl.us.  Dylan helped him out by making a graphic organizer explaining how to do the research for the research project.

Last week Techy T.O.M. went to Echo Valley with the 4th, 5th, and 7th grade girlscouts.   He got to hang out with the 5th graders.  He stayed in a huge attic with the 5th graders only.  Echo Valley is a house that girlscouts stay in.  It has 3 floors: the first floor is the kitchen, dining room, and crafts room.  The second floor has 5 bedrooms and a bathroom.   Last but not least the 3rd floor is the GIANT bedroom attic.  During the night, Techy T.O.M. got to play games like bingo, James Bond, and apples to apples with the girls!  Techy T.O.M. had lots of fun and wishes he could go again.   By: Alexandra, and Zoe!

KH Math kids are hoping you could give us a challenge math problem.  We are working hard on +1, +2, and -1.  Some of our math problems sound like this… A bug starts at 7 on the number line.  It plusses some places.  It ends up at 9.  We would love a few problems like this to solve.

Yesterday 5th grade got a brand new Flip Video camera that is super-easy to use.  We got right to work making a how-to video on how to write a blog entry. enjoy!

On Sunday Jan 11th Techy TOM went to the girls Badger basketball game. he got to watch the weather on the score board. He tried to attract the camera guy to get him on TV…it didn’t work so well. Before the game we went to the Nitty Gritty Restaurant. we got mini Sundaes and watched Sunday football on the huge TV. he was yelling up a storm because his favorite team was losing.

Back to the game, Techy TOM was glad to see that the Badgers who the game! At the end he was able to slap the players hands.

Alex, Jacen & Darius

This is us opening the pop machine. We’ll be putting the pops in the pop machine. Techy Tom uses the key to open the door.

This is us pulling the change out. The coins are sorted. It does that by itself. The dollar bills to in a different place so they don’t get ripped up or bent.

This is Alex counting the change. The paper tells me what I should put in. I write down how much money there is. Techy Tom has to count up how much money the soda machine got.

Techy Tom put the soda in. The sodas have to be put in back to back. It’s like a refrigerator and keeps the pop cold for you. Techy Tom counts out the pop. The pop falls down and shoots down a slide. Then the pop comes out for you.

Mr.Briggs sets up tests for all the students to take. We use the tickers to take the test. Everyone started out doing the geography bee. After the first round are winners were Mike,Parker,Max,Brooke,Trey,Grace,Vanessa,Maya,Regan,and Peter. Now after that round the winners are Brooke,Mike,parker,and Max.There are more tests on the way and we’ll find our geography bee winner.
